Tomorrow is a 1/2 day for students.


Blocks 1 and 4  Spanish 1-2:
-Students completed the warm up.
-Students participated in a class discussion about Cesar Chavez and took notes on his accomplishments.
-Students recited the new vocabulary for Unit 1 Lesson 1 and the useful classroom phrases.
-Students made flashcards for the subject pronouns.
-Students played a game using the subject pronoun flashcards.



Homework:
-Isabel Allende biography due by 7:30 am on Friday, September 2,  2016.  This must be submitted via Google Classroom.  Remember to explain why Ms. Allende's work is important to you and/or how it changed the world.  You can always look at the sample paragraph on the blog.
-Write 6 sentences about things you do and do not like to do using vocabulary from the current list.
-Create concrete poetry for 4 words from the vocabulary list. Remember that this is where you re-write the word at least 4-5 times to create a picture that represents that word. I demonstrated with the word ojo (eye) on the board.
-Unit 1 Lesson 1 Quiz will be this Thursday. Quiz Topics: Lesson vocabulary, subject pronouns, the verb ser and the verb gustar.





Block 2 Spanish 3-4H:
-Students completed the warm up.
-Students participated in a class discussion about Rita Moreno and took notes on her accomplishments.
-Students recited the vocabulary for Unit 1 Lesson 1.
-Students practiced their travel dialogs with a partner.  
-Students worked on their research about their countries.


Homework:
-Mario Molina biography due by 7:30 am on Friday, September 2, 2016. This must be submitted via Google Classroom. Remember to explain why Mr. Molina's work is important to you and/or how it changed the world. You can always look at the sample paragraph on the blog.
-Workbook pages 2 and 3.
-First timed verb post test over regular and irregular verbs in the present tense Tuesday, August 30, 2016.
-Unit 1 Lesson 1 Quiz on Thursday.  Quiz Topics: Lesson Vocabulary and Direct Object Pronouns.
