-Students played verb Tic Tack Toe using the e -> ie stem changing verbs. 
-Students took notes on the introduction to direct object pronouns.

-Take the Unit 4 Lesson 1 Self Check Quiz at www.classzone.com and email me your score. The email is due by 7:30 am tomorrow, November 29.

Blocks 2 and 4  Spanish 3-4:
-Warm Up
-Block 2 students played verb Tic Tack Toe using verbs in the imperfect tense.
-Block 2 students reviewed the notes about past participles used as adjectives and completed a worksheet to practice the skill. 
-Block 4 students made 6 T Charts using the imperfect tense.
-Block 4 students completed a handout reviewing the imperfect tense.
-Block 4 students read a short story called "No Eran de la Misma Clase".

 
Homework:
-Take the Unit 4 Lesson 1 Self Check Quiz at www.classzone.com and email me your score.  The email is due by 7:30 am tomorrow, November 29.
-Block 4 students need to write a total of 12 original sentences in the imperfect tense.  They should write 2 sentences using each of the following verbs: ser, ir, ver, escuchar, comer and vivir.

-Students were told what will be on the Unit 4 Lesson 1 Quiz this Thursday, November 29, 2012.  The topics for the quiz are:  the lesson vocabulary, e -> ie stem changing verbs and direct object pronouns.

Block 1  Spanish 1-2:
-Warm Up
-Students turned in their warm ups for the last two weeks.
-Students completed an activity about the things they are thankful for in Spanish.
-Students made two Turkey Grams each.  They had to select 2 people for whom they are thankful and write a card to each of those people.  Each card had to have at least 1-2 sentences in Spanish.

-None.



Blocks 2 and 4  Spanish 3-4:
-Warm Up 
-Students turned in their warm ups for the last two weeks. 
-Students in block 2 attended the assembly in the football stadium.
-Students in block 4 completed an activity about the things they are thankful for in Spanish.
-Students in block 4 made two Turkey Grams each.  They had to select 2 people for whom they are thankful and write a card to each of those people.  Each card had to have at least 2-3 sentences in Spanish.

Formula for Calculating Semester Grades

The following formula can be used to calculate your semester grade.  Your 1st quarter grade is final and will not change.  You will have to estimate your 2nd quarter grade and your exam grade.  Remember to base those estimates on your typical performance in this class.

(quarter 1 % X .4) + (quarter 2 % X .4) + (Exam % X .2) = Semester Grade

-Warm Up
-Students copied the Unit 4 Lesson 1 vocabulary.
-Students made a word search using 20 vocabulary words from 4.2.  The words need to be hidden in the puzzle in Spanish and the English translations need to be listed at the bottom of the paper. 
-Students finished the reading assignment that we started on Wednesday for 3.2.

Homework:
-No new written assignment.

-Warm Up - Students turned in their warm ups for the last two weeks.
-Students completed a family vocabulary Find Someone Who activity.
-Students completed a partner activity using family vocabulary and stating ages. 

Homework:
-No new written assignment.



Blocks 2 and 4  Spanish 3-4:
-Warm Up - Students turned in their warm ups for the last two weeks.
-Students played vocabulary using the words from Unit 3 Lesson 2.
-Students played 5 games of Tic Tac Toe using the 5 new irregular verbs that they learned in the preterite: saber, tener, poner, estar and poder.
-Students had 15 minutes to finish their collages using verbs like gustar.  They cut pictures from magazines to represent things that they do and do not like.  The students have to have two sentences with pictures for each of the following verbs: gustar, encantar, interesar, importar, quedar, fascinar, faltar and aburrir.  Remember to use both positive and negative statements as well as singular and plural forms of the verbs.  These are due next Tuesday, November 13, 2012.

Homework:
-Finish the collages using verbs like gustar.  Review the directions listed above.  These are due on Tuesday, November 13, 2012

-Students completed a handout using possessive adjectives.  
-Students played bingo using the Unit 3 Lesson 2 vocabulary.

-Students took notes on irregular verbs in the preterite: estar, poder, poner, saber and tener.  Students then made T Charts for two of the verbs.
-Students completed a handout using the irregular verbs in the preterite. 
-Students had time to work on the collages they started yesterday using the verbs like gustar.  They cut pictures from magazines to represent things that they do and do not like.  The students have to have two sentences with pictures for each of the following verbs: gustar, encantar, interesar, importar, quedar, fascinar, faltar and aburrir.  Students will have more time to finish this project in class tomorrow.

Block 1  Spanish 1-2:
-Warm Up
-Students created a bingo card using the Unit 3 Lesson 2 vocabulary.  The bingo card had Spanish words on the front.  The back of the card had 7 pictures and 18 English translations.
-Students created a family tree for their imaginary families.  They had to cut out pictures of 7 different people and glue them on the photo "album" page.  Students also had to write out the following sentences for each picture: name, age, relationship (mother, father, etc.) and 2 adjectives to describe each person in Spanish.  All of this information had to be in complete sentences in Spanish.

-Finish any work not completed in class.

-Students read about the use of masks as part of the Dia de los Muertos celebration and then created their own masks.
-Students read about the importance of ofrendas during the celebration of Dia de los Muertos and drew a picture of an ofrenda.

-Go to www.classzone.com and take the Unit 3 Lesson 1 self check quiz.  Remember to email me your score by 7:30 AM on Monday, November 5. 
-Study for the Unit 3 Lesson 1 quiz on Monday, November 5.  Topics: 3.1 vocabulary, regular er and ir verbs in the present tense and the verb gustar with nouns.

-Students created their own cursive name skulls - an art project shared with us by one our PV art teachers, Mrs. Cruse.
-Students participated in a class discussion of how the skeletons should look.
