Blocks 1 and 4  Spanish 1-2:
-Students completed the warm up.
-Students recited the vocabulary for Unit 1 Lesson 1 and the useful classroom phrases.
-Students corrected workbook pages 4 and 5.
-Students added the forms of the verb ser to their flashcards.
-Students played another round of the flashcard game to practice the meanings of the subject pronouns and the forms of the verb ser.
-Students started the homework for tonight.


Homework:
-Isabel Allende biography due by 7:30 am on Friday, September 2,  2016.  This must be submitted via Google Classroom.  Remember to explain why Ms. Allende's work is important to you and/or how it changed the world.  You can always look at the sample paragraph on the blog.
-Workbook page 6.
-Complete the front side of the handout that you were given in class today. 
-Unit 1 Lesson 1 Quiz will be this Friday. Quiz Topics: Lesson vocabulary, subject pronouns, the verb ser and the verb gustar.





Block 2 Spanish 3-4H:
-Students completed the warm up.
-Students recited the vocabulary for Unit 1 Lesson 1.
-Students took notes on direct object pronouns.
-Students completed a worksheet to practice using direct object pronouns in writing.
-Students completed a find someone who activity that required them to use direct object pronouns in their speaking.
-Students practiced their travel dialogs with a partner and incorporated the use of direct object pronouns. 
-Students worked on their research about their countries.

-Mario Molina biography due by 7:30 am on Friday, September 2, 2016. This must be submitted via Google Classroom. Remember to explain why Mr. Molina's work is important to you and/or how it changed the world. You can always look at the sample paragraph on the blog.

Today was a 1/2 day for students.

Tomorrow is a 1/2 day for students.


Blocks 1 and 4  Spanish 1-2:
-Students completed the warm up.
-Students participated in a class discussion about Cesar Chavez and took notes on his accomplishments.
-Students recited the new vocabulary for Unit 1 Lesson 1 and the useful classroom phrases.
-Students made flashcards for the subject pronouns.
-Students played a game using the subject pronoun flashcards.



Homework:
-Isabel Allende biography due by 7:30 am on Friday, September 2,  2016.  This must be submitted via Google Classroom.  Remember to explain why Ms. Allende's work is important to you and/or how it changed the world.  You can always look at the sample paragraph on the blog.
-Write 6 sentences about things you do and do not like to do using vocabulary from the current list.
-Create concrete poetry for 4 words from the vocabulary list. Remember that this is where you re-write the word at least 4-5 times to create a picture that represents that word. I demonstrated with the word ojo (eye) on the board.

-Students played hangman using the Spanish alphabet and the 1.1 lesson vocabulary.
-Students quizzed a partner over the lesson vocabulary.

Block 2 Spanish 3-4H:
-Students completed the warm up.
-Students recited the 1.1 lesson vocabulary.
-Students finished sharing the travel dialog questions that they created yesterday. 
-Students practiced travel dialogs with a partner for the first time.
-Students updated the table of contents for their ISNs.
-Students completed any work from yesterday that still needed to be finished.
-Students were assigned a Spanish speaking country to study and they started a KWL chart in their ISNs on the specific country that they were assigned.

Tomorrow is Game Day!

Blocks 1 and 4  Spanish 1-2:
-Students completed the warm up.
-Students recited the 1.1 lesson vocabulary.
-Students corrected the workbook pages from last night.
-Students quizzed several partners over the new vocabulary.
-Students took notes on the subject pronouns in Spanish.



Homework:
-Cesar Chavez biography due by 7:30 am on Friday, August 26,  2016.  This must be submitted via Google Classroom.  Remember to explain why Mr. Chavez's work is important to you and/or how it changed the world.  You can always look at the sample paragraph on the blog.

Block 2 Spanish 3-4H:
-Students completed the warm up.
-Students recited the 1.1 lesson vocabulary.
-Students translated the 1.1 introduction to the new vocabulary with their table groups. 
-Students completed a personality type inventory. 
-Students developed 3 original questions that could be used as part of a dialog about travel and vacation.
-Students paired up with other students in the class to share their questions with each other so that each student ended up with a total of 9 questions.

-Students copied the Unit 1 Lesson 1 vocabulary into their ISNs.
-Students were told about the set up of the workbook and how homework is assigned.
-Students in block 1 finished playing bingo using the cards they made last week.
-Students in block 4 finished presenting the dialogs for the first lesson.

-Students listened to the introduction to the new vocabulary for Unit 1 Lesson 1 and took turns reading it aloud.  
-Students finished the assignment that requires a visual representation about the Spanish speaking countries who won medals in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
-Students started the writing assignment that goes along with the visual they created about the Spanish speaking countries that won medals in the 2016 Summer Olympics. The purpose of this assignment is for the students to consider the factors that influence whether or not countries compete in the Olympics, whether or not they win medals, how many medals they win and in which events they win them.

Homework:

-Students practiced spelling Spanish names using the Spanish alphabet.
