-Students finished copying the 2.1 vocabulary if that had not already been done.

-Students created a T chart about "el dieciséis de septiembre". The left side of the chart listed what they already knew about the topic and the right side of the chart was used to record what they learned about the topic.
-Students completed a word search about Hispanic Heritage Month.

-Students cut out 5 pictures from magazines and glued them in their notebooks. Students had to write sentences in Spanish for each picture telling the name of the person, his/her age, where the person is from, 3 adjectives to describe the person and 2 likes or dislikes of the person.

-Students received graded papers.
-Students in block 1 turned in the workbook pages for 1.1.
-Students copied the 1.2 lesson vocabulary into their notebooks.
-Students created a bingo card using the words from 1.2. The front of the card should have one Spanish word per box. The back of the card should have 8 pictures and 17 English translations.
-Students in block 1 participated in a class discussion about Isabel Allende and took notes on her accomplishments.
