Block 1  Spanish 1-2:
-Warm Up - Students turned in their warm ups for the last two weeks.
-Students completed a family vocabulary Find Someone Who activity.
-Students completed a partner activity using family vocabulary and stating ages. 

Homework:
-No new written assignment.



Blocks 2 and 4  Spanish 3-4:
-Warm Up - Students turned in their warm ups for the last two weeks.
-Students played vocabulary using the words from Unit 3 Lesson 2.
-Students played 5 games of Tic Tac Toe using the 5 new irregular verbs that they learned in the preterite: saber, tener, poner, estar and poder.
-Students had 15 minutes to finish their collages using verbs like gustar.  They cut pictures from magazines to represent things that they do and do not like.  The students have to have two sentences with pictures for each of the following verbs: gustar, encantar, interesar, importar, quedar, fascinar, faltar and aburrir.  Remember to use both positive and negative statements as well as singular and plural forms of the verbs.  These are due next Tuesday, November 13, 2012.

Homework:
-Finish the collages using verbs like gustar.  Review the directions listed above.  These are due on Tuesday, November 13, 2012

Block 1  Spanish 1-2:
-Warm Up
-Students took notes on possessive adjectives and completed a practice exercise from the text.
-Students completed a handout using possessive adjectives.  
-Students played bingo using the Unit 3 Lesson 2 vocabulary.

Homework:
-Workbook pages 125 and 126.

Blocks 2 and 4  Spanish 3-4:
-Warm Up 
-Students took notes on irregular verbs in the preterite: estar, poder, poner, saber and tener.  Students then made T Charts for two of the verbs.
-Students completed a handout using the irregular verbs in the preterite. 
-Students had time to work on the collages they started yesterday using the verbs like gustar.  They cut pictures from magazines to represent things that they do and do not like.  The students have to have two sentences with pictures for each of the following verbs: gustar, encantar, interesar, importar, quedar, fascinar, faltar and aburrir.  Students will have more time to finish this project in class tomorrow.

-Workbook pages 125 and 126.

Block 1  Spanish 1-2:
-Warm Up
-Students created a bingo card using the Unit 3 Lesson 2 vocabulary.  The bingo card had Spanish words on the front.  The back of the card had 7 pictures and 18 English translations.
-Students created a family tree for their imaginary families.  They had to cut out pictures of 7 different people and glue them on the photo "album" page.  Students also had to write out the following sentences for each picture: name, age, relationship (mother, father, etc.) and 2 adjectives to describe each person in Spanish.  All of this information had to be in complete sentences in Spanish. 


Homework:
-Finish any work not completed in class.

-Students corrected workbook pages.
-Students turned in their Dia de los Muertos materials: word search, KWL chart, mask and ofrenda. 
-Students had a few minutes to review for the Unit 3 Lesson 1 quiz.
-Students took the Unit 3 Lesson 1 quiz.

-No new written assignment.

Block 1  Spanish 1-2:
-Warm Up
-Students read about the use of masks as part of the Dia de los Muertos celebration and then created their own masks.
-Students read about the importance of ofrendas during the celebration of Dia de los Muertos and drew a picture of an ofrenda. 


Homework:
-Go to www.classzone.com and take the Unit 3 Lesson 1 self check quiz.  Remember to email me your score by 7:30 AM on Monday, November 5. 
-Study for the Unit 3 Lesson 1 quiz on Monday, November 5.  Topics: 3.1 vocabulary, regular er and ir verbs in the present tense and the verb gustar with nouns.

-Warm Up 
-Students created their own cursive name skulls - an art project shared with us by one our PV art teachers, Mrs. Cruse.
-Students participated in a class discussion of how the skeletons should look.
