Special Note

The cutoff for progress report grades will be this Friday, September 14, 2012. 

Any work not submitted by this Friday will not be entered into the grades prior to progress reports being printed. 

Block 1  Spanish 1-2:
-Warm Up
-Graded quizzes were returned to students and then filed in their portfolios.
-Students interviewed 6 other students about things they do/do not like to do.
-Students created a bar graph based on the results of their interviews.
-Students started a handout to practice adjective agreement.

Homework:
-Complete the adjective agreement handout that was  started in class.
-Workbook pages 30 and 31
-Alberto Alfonso biography email is due by 7:30 am Friday, September 14, 2012.

Blocks 2 and 4  Spanish 3-4:

-Warm Up 
-Students were told that the Unit 1 test will be this Friday, September 14th.
-Students were told that there will be a direct object pronoun quiz this Wednesday, September 12th.
-Corrected quizzes were returned to students and then filed in students' portfolios.
-Students quizzed a partner on the vocabulary for both lessons 1 and 2 in Unit 1.
-Students worked on the important people writing assignment. 

Homework:

-Block 2 - Finalize 4 body paragraphs for rough draft of important people writing assignment
-Block 4 - Write 2 body paragraphs for rough draft of important people writing assignment
-Luis Valdez biography email is due by 7:30 am Friday, September 14, 2012.
-Study for direct object pronoun quiz this Wednesday, September 12, 2012.
-Study for Unit 1 Test this Friday, September 12, 2012.

Blocks 2 and 4  Spanish 3-4:

-Warm Up  
-Students turned in their homework and corrected the workbook page they completed last night.
-Students completed the Self/Friend Find Someone Who activity. 
-Students practiced the vocabulary for this lesson.
-Students took notes on vocabulary words that could enhance their rough drafts of their writing assignments: ordinal numbers, frequency words, etc. 
-Students in block 2 started their rough drafts.

Block 1  Spanish 1-2:
-Warm Up
-Students turned in their homework and then corrected the workbook pages that were completed last night.
-Students completed a review handout that covered vocabulary and the verb gustar.
-Students cut their bingo cards into flashcards and participated in mix-freeze-pair to quiz 2 different partners on the vocabulary.
-Students started a handout using the definite and indefinite articles.

Homework:
-Complete the definite and indefinite article handout that was  started in class.
-Workbook pages 28 and 29
-Isabel Allende biography email is due by 7:30 am tomorrow morning.

Blocks 2 and 4  Spanish 3-4:

-Warm Up 
-Students turned in their homework and then corrected their workbook pages from last night.
-Students cut up their Bingo cards to create flashcards.  Next, they paired up with two different students to quiz each other on the vocabulary.
-Students participated in a simultaneous round table activity to complete a handout about conjugating regular AR verbs in the preterite tense.

-Students completed a listening comprehension activity.
-Students translated the presentation of vocabulary into English in their table groups.
-Students copied the vocabulary for Unit 2 Lesson 1.
-Students started their bingo cards - Spanish words on the front and 12 English translations/13 pictures on the back

Homework:
-Finish bingo card if necessary.
-Workbook pages 24 and 25
-Isabel Allende biography email due by 7:30 am Friday, September 7, 2012.
