Block 1  Spanish 1-2:
-Warm Up
-Students were provided with a list of all work that should have been completed over the last two days with the substitute.
-Students finished and turned in the work from both Monday and Tuesday.
-Students received their November homework calendars and turned in their October homework calendars.  
-Students started a color by number listening activity.

Homework:
-No new written assignment.
-Finish any work from Monday or Tuesday that was not already turned in.

-Warm Up

-Students corrected activity 9 and Para y Piensa page 147.
-Students quizzed a partner on the Unit 3 Lesson 1 vocabulary. 
-Students completed the reading activity on pages 156 and 157 in the text.  They also completed the handout that went along with the reading assignment.

-Workbook pages 111, 112 and 113.
-Dia de los Muertos celebration this Friday.

-Study for the Unit 3 Lesson 1 Quiz which will be this Thursday, November 1, 2012.  The topics for the quiz are the lesson vocabulary, gustar with nouns and regular er/ir verbs.

-Students read page 154 about pronouns after prepositions and copied the notes into their notebooks.  On the same piece of paper, the students completed activity 13 on page 155 in the text.
-Students quizzed a partner on the Unit 3 Lesson 1 vocabulary.
-Students completed the reading assignment on pages 160 and 161 in the text.  They also completed the handout that went along with this assignment.

Block 1  Spanish 1-2:
-Warm Up - Students started a new paper. 
-Students read about using the verb gustar with nouns and took notes from page 145 in the book.  On the same paper as their notes, the students completed activity 5 on page 146.
-Students completed a handout using the verb gustar with nouns. 
-Students quizzed a partner on the Unit 3 Lesson 1 vocabulary.  
-Students completed activity 21 on page 155 in the text.  This activity required the students to write a letter to the principal about the cafeteria in Spanish.

-Workbook pages 102 - 104.

Blocks 2 and 4  Spanish 3-4:
-Warm Up - Students started a new paper. 
-Students wrote 11 original sentences using the irregular yo form verbs that are listed on page 149 in the text.  Each sentence used one of the verbs in the yo form. 
-Students quizzed a partner on the Unit 3 Lesson 1 vocabulary.
-Students completed activity 21 on page 159 in the text on the same piece of paper where they wrote the 11 sentences.  This assignment required them to write a paragraph about stores in their neighborhood. 
-Students read telehistoria on page 157 and summarized what they read.  They also completed activities 17 and 18 on page 158.

-Warm Up - ER/IR Verb Handout
-Students played a verb dice game to practice conjugating regular ER and IR verbs in the present tense.
-Students completed a listening activity to practice vocabulary, conjugation, spelling and answering questions. 
-Students started their first writing assignment.


Homework:
-Complete their own information along with information about two other people on the circle map.

-Students have to draw a picture of an outfit.  It must include a top and some type of bottoms (skirt, pants) and 5 additional items.  The items must be colored.  No words should be written on the paper in Spanish because students are going to trade papers tomorrow and describe what the other student has drawn.

-Students created their own word searches using 20 vocabulary words from page 159 (Unit 3 Lesson 1).  Students were supposed to hide the words in Spanish in the puzzle and write the English words at the bottom of the paper as clues.   
-Students completed workbook pages 99 - 101

-Finish workbook pages 99 - 101.

Reflexive Project Directions

Reflexive Project

Due Date:  Tuesday, October 23, 2012


Using the reflexive verbs, you are going to make a collage showing what you do in the morning to get ready for school.  your collage can be made of newspaper pictures, magazine pictures, computer pictures, actual photographs or comic strip pictures.  Sorry, no hand drawn pictures.  Your collage can be presented on a poster, in a PowerPoint presentation or another appropriate format.  Your collage must contain the following items:
  • At least 8 pictures
  • Use of at least 8 different reflexive verbs
  • Each picture must be labeled with a complete sentence in Spanish
You will be graded on neatness, creativity and accuracy of grammar.


Grading Rubric:
  • Did your collage contain 8 pictures?                                         5 pts
  • Did your collage contain 8 different reflexive verbs?               5 pts
  • Was each picture labeled in Spanish?                                       5 pts

Next Week is Homecoming Week. 


Block 1  Spanish 1-2:
-Warm Up - Students started a new paper
-Graded papers were returned to students.
-Students received the October homework calendar and important upcoming dates were discussed. 
-Students were told that the Unit 2 Lesson 1 Quiz will be this Wednesday, October 3rd.  The topics for the quiz are the lesson vocabulary, the verb tener and regular AR verbs in the present tense.
-Students corrected workbook pages from last week.
-Students completed a time worksheet. 

Homework:
-Complete time worksheet.
-Workbook page 55
-Study for Unit 2 Lesson 1 Quiz this Wednesday.
-Unit 2 Lesson 1 Self-Check Quiz on www.classzone.com is due by 7:30 am Wednesday, October 3, 2012.  Remember to email me your score.

-Students took notes on how adverbs are formed in Spanish and completed 2 practice activities.
-Students took notes on demonstrative adjectives/pronouns.
